When I was 18 in 1992 I began a degree in Psychology and Philosophy at Middlesex University. My mother gave me a book that described the thirteenth sign of the zodiac Arachne. There was this gorgeous Indian woman having a birthday party on May 21st so I went along and told her she was born under the sign of Arachne. I was thinking about this sign recently so searched the internet for more information. The majority of search results were of a book called Arachne Rising by James Vogh. The writer John Sladek apparently invented this thirteenth sign for a fictional book satirising astrology. When I first read about the sign in the book my mother gave me I beleived it was of significance but have recently discovered it was a hoax.
